Carpet Cleaning Prices

 The prices that are charged for carpet cleaning can vary greatly from one company to the next, especially if there are a large number of companies competing in the market or if many of them are running specials that the other companies then feel that they must compete with in order to remain competitive in the business.  In general, one can expect to pay around 0.15 cents to 0.35 cents per square foot.  A homeowner that has 1000 square feet of carpet, for example, would be charged around $150.00 at the 0.15 cent rate, and it would cost slightly more than twice that at the top rate of 0.35 cents.  Most carpet cleaners, both big and small, fall into this range somewhere.  That does not tell the consumer, however, why one company charges at the top end and another consumer charges at the bottom end, and it also does not tell the consumer what all of the services are that he or she will get for that money.  These are questions that the consumer will want to ask of the companies that he or she is considering when determining what company will clean the carpets. 

Some companies – typically the larger, more well-known ones, but not always – will offer specials where a room will be cleaned free, or hallways are free, or there is an air freshener they will put into the carpet, or countless other things.  Other offers include things such as free pet stain and odor removal.  While these are all good offers and good ideas, a savvy consumer will make sure that he or she checks the prices that all of these companies are charging as well.  Getting something for free is not really ‘free’ if the overall price is much more than the competition is charging.  What good is getting a free offer if the consumer is still paying more than he or she would pay at another company for the same exact services?  Unfortunately, most consumers do not realize how important this issue is and they only see the word ‘free’ and assume that they are getting a wonderful deal.  Shop around.  There are a multitude of offers out there, and the quality of the people and the work also varies, so the need to check into everything about a company that might affect the consumer is there.

Another reason to pay attention to carpet cleaning prices and get the best price is because the carpets in a home or business should be cleaned approximately every 12 to 18 months and over the course of time this can get expensive if one has gone with the highest-priced carpet cleaner in the area.  While scrimping on the number of times that the carpet is cleaned is also something that many consumers do, this is a poor choice due to the fact that carpets do not last nearly as long when they are not cleaned properly.  For example, a carpet that is cleaned regularly will usually last for around 13 to 15 years, while a carpet that is not taken care of may only last 7 years under the same conditions and circumstances.  Because it is much less expensive to have carpet cleaned than it is to replace it the consumer would be wise to shop around, find a good carpet cleaning company, and ensure that the carpets get cleaned every 12 to 18 months to prolong the life of the carpet.
